Possible bone fragment from Beaumaris

This specimen was found from beaumaris beach, victoria. Is it a fossil bone fragment? More pictures to come. It will only let me post one for some reason :/

If it ever was it's so badly preserved as to be nearly unrecognizable now. The area to the left in the first photo is difficult to dismiss completely though.

Looks like an ironstone concretion to me, they are pretty common there and have fooled me many times...

So where abouts on Beaumaris are these fossils supposed to be? I found no signs of any near the yacht club.

Anywhere along the beach there. To both sides of the club. The iron concretions mean you were in the right area. Surely you found some Lovenia?

No i looked for an hour or two. Couldnt find any.

I agree with iron oxide concretion. Here's an example from Tibooburra-Milparinka region in northwest New South Wales.

@FrostbyteFossils there are some of those up in Calvert that look so much like meg teeth that I actually get angry every time I pick one up thinking I found a big tooth :doh!:
