Permission to get onto Wilson’s Clay Pit?

Just a quick question regarding Wilson’s Clay Pit for those of you who have been/know (and hopefully this is the right spot to ask). From all I’ve read, you don’t need permission to go into the Pit, right? So long as you don’t wreck the place you’re free to crawl through the fence and go hunting.

Hello, and a very warm welcome to TFF from Morocco. :)

Good luck with your crawling about in the clay pit. :D

So far, still open access.  Just park on the shoulder and leave the guns, steam shovel, motor bikes and blasting caps at home, and all should be ok going forward.

so, what is this Wilson's Clay Pit?

A very productive Pennsylvanian ex quarry in central Texas with a variety of marine and land  creatures. The owners are tolerant of responsible collectors on the property.

Thank all of y’all for replying!

We made it out but it’s a bit too boggy for our liking, with all of the rain we’ve had around here recently. Some adventurous people tried their luck and left some deep footprints, but we didn’t feel like dealing with that much mud. I’ll defintely be back once it decides to dry out some and post if I manage to find anything decent.
