Is this fish able to be prepped?

I haven't bought this yet.  I wanted to see if anyone thought it was a lost cause or has potential.  All I know is that it is from China.  If appears that it may be able to be cleaned up a bit, kind of like the green river fish...not that I have prepped any of those either.

It looks like there is possibly some prep that could be done on it. It is hard to tell from the photo if the fins are covered in matrix or if they are siply the negative from the split.

I would say that this fish, Lycoptera davidi from Liaoning province china, is about as good as its going to get.  There are much better ones to be had if you keep looking.  Good luck

I agree with Ron. Lycoptera davidi

I don't think there is anything to prep.

The fins, which appear to be mostly imprints, could be painted/enhanced, but as Ron said, better ones can be found out there.

Also, the stone these are in is quite hard, despite how it looks. A bit difficult to prep.

Here is one I uncovered.
