Well, they certainly both love company and attention. The kids flew in from Portland late last night and have been showering the dinos with affection. My 4 year old Kaliko I think has plans on liberation.... this will be a tricky extraction for Sara to be sure. Oh, the stories they will tell around the volcanic vents when they return home. Piggy back time !!
Brett Breakin' Rocks
I also found some time to begin touring the fellowship around my Savannah, GA fossils. Most of which were found in the last year on the river. These are some of the best of the bunch. Ahh ... and a stop by some of my purchase and trades. Oooooo So colorful. @caldigger may recognize a few of these. Many thanks again, I'll put them to good use. More to come... hopefully I can get the kayak patched up and we can go for a paddle.... this week.
Bobby Rico
@Brett Breakin' Rocks Lovely photos and it just goes to show even a 40 year old dinosaur toy can still hold the imagination of 4 year old. Plastic dinosaur are the best toys ever. I am over your shark teeth collection. Cheers Bobby

This buddy team is really working hard to bring in the good stuff. Sara thought she had picked up a bowling ball. A femoral head from a big bone popped up instead. Whew .... that was a looooong walk with that thing on her back. Stephan helped of course. Wow, Sara is soo strong ! 2 "On ne voit bien que par le coeur, l'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux." I am convinced that dinosaurs and the like are amazing for the wonderful and free-flowing imaginations of small children. .... speaking of ..... It had been some time since we last heard from Sara and Stephan . But fear not ... they have been out and about in Savannah , Georgia USA , and then Sara went on an impromptu trip to South Florida for a little R & R. Our first stop is probably a little known display tucked at the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ' Beware of Leopard.' Then you have to find that filing cabinet crammed into the bowels of a large convention center here in Savannah. A sad state of affairs but it is a small town with charm ... but not much science on display. It does have quite a collection of model boats which is respectable. .. and the fossils that best represent this area. So .. you know. That's about it for us. Haha. Well, the dinosaurs wanted to go to the beach anyway right ? The Florida report awaits ... but Sara will soon be on her way again. To California again ... in point of fact.

Yes, the meg teeth have me drooling too .. just not sure I'd want to embark on any black-water dives to find them. Cheers, Brett

Brett Breakin' Rocks
Day 01 of our Florida adventure. A rendezvous with an old friend. Sara tried some lazer-tag for the first time and took out her frustrations on the enemy. Honestly I don't blame her ... life can be stressful. But fun, if you allow it. A quick dip in the pool with an author approved conveyance. The 'fish' flops however are .... interesting? It is Florida after all. Sunset dinner on the river, with a challenging game of chess.
Brett Breakin' Rocks
Day 02 - We drove up to North Florida to High Springs. Thus named for the Ocala Limestone and the fresh water springs rising up from the Floridian aquifer. (which partially underlies 5 states) My cousin lives there on a small farm called Belle Arbor and works on custom woodworking projects. He has switched to hand tools only. Sara is keen to inspect the workmanship. ... and inspect the tools of course ..... After some fresh food from the garden it was off to the springs. Did I mention the headwater springs of the Ichetucknee River where the water rushes up from beneath the ground were a bit chilly 72 °F (22 °C) ?? Cold and beautiful but refreshing on a hot day ... Sara had to be careful because she doesn't float and swimming can be difficult at times without help. Don't ask me how I know. As seen from above ..... Brett Breakin' Rocks
Day 03 on our way home we stopped at the Gainesville Natural History Museum. This small museum is quite dense with some great fossil and shell exhibits. Sara felt quite small at times .... The live butterfly exhibit was the kids favorite. Sara was quite fond of the butterfly collection. One of the largest in the world.
Brett Breakin' Rocks
We got home only to discover a @caldigger trade. He is always so kind and included some micro-matrix. The kids and Sara jumped into action. She is quite good searching the matrix, this is where her size is quite the asset. Get em' Sara ! Well, Sara is off to California next. Bon Voyage Sara. Safe travels....
