PODIGGER
These last two resembled some photos in the books I had on hand but nothing definitive. When tapped with metal they do have that distinctive bone/china sound. Could they be claw cores? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Plantguy
Hmm, Looks like they are worn broken bone fragments with some possible bivalve borings but whether they are core related I'm gonna guess no. I think their shape is suggestive. I'd hang on to them though and show them to someone at a local rock club meeting to see if they can see anything the photos arent showing and get the final say on whether to hang on to...sometimes things are just unidentifiable chunks of bone--the river and surf do a number on things down here. PODIGGER
Thanks Chris. I will follow your suggestion, hold on to them and hope to get them looked at locally at a club meeting. Jim
