Here is another item I found in north myrtle beach! I'm not sure what it could be....I already have sea robin skull plates, and it doesnt look like that, but maybe it is something similar? Any help is appreciated! Posted are the top, then the bottom of the object

the only thing I can come up with is a portion of a fish or bird cranium; aka 'skull cap'

I was thinking similarly, my only reservation is that I can't find an example that looks similar. That made me think it was something else...unless it's just an oddly broken one, lol

Have seen these called bony fish basi-occipitals. We have better experts on here that can do a proper ID though.

Looks a bit like a fish parasphenoid.

so the bent down portion in the last pic is possibly the basi-occipital? I have to quit using words that I no longer comprehend fully!
