Hi everyone, I will be in Phoenix for a conference next month and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for quick collecting trips. I have a day to spare prior to the meeting. Thanks for any thoughts

Are you coming for GSA?

I recommend the going to the Indian Garden Paleo Site NE of Payson: https://www.google.com/amp/s/adventurenuts.wordpress.com/2017/06/01/find-fossils-in-payson-arizona/amp/

Also, the Whispering Pines area for Devonian Martin Formation corals and sponges and more geodes than you can carry. PM me for details.

See two local museums for fossils: the Arizona Museum of Natural History for mostly verts and the Pinal Geological Museum for minerals, fossils and rocks. Say hello to fellow vertebrate paleontologist, Bob McCord at AMMH.

My goal is to leave no stone or fossil unturned.
