Cool Interactive Solar System Model

DPS Ammonite

Recommended Posts

Here is a fantastic video about an interactive scale model of our solar system created in several square miles of desert. There is a lot more space between the planets than most models can show.

My goal is to leave no stone or fossil unturned.

Thanks for sharing!

This reminds me somewhat of the "Planetenweg" (planet trail) in Styria. It was established about 15 years ago, so it is non-interactive :D.

Scale is 1:1.000.000.000, incl. size of the planets, and it represents the constellation of May 5, 2000. Unfortunately, its in mountainous and mostly forested terrain.

No Pluto :(

Pluto is not considered a "planet" anymore. Google it.

Yeah, I know. Pisses me off, too.

Mark.

Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
