Today I went hunting in a stream in Hendersonville, TN. I took some co-workers who wanted to see why I'm so fossil crazy, and now they are hooked. We are going back thursday :D . I found my largest crinoid stem to date which made my day. below is a picture of some of what I found. The white one with holes in it, I need help with the ID. I never found one like it before

Ameenah,

Nice Finds - some really nice crinoid stems, and corals as well!! biggrin.gif

It's cool that you're getting your co-workers hooked! Wish I could help with the ID's... do you happen to know what formation you're searching in? I'd try googling that, and/or fossils+Tennesee, and see what you come up with.

Good Luck,... and thanks for sharing!

The white stone is a poorly preserved coral, I have seen similar on this side of the river (Missouri)

You are not to far from Bath Springs. There are lots of sponges found

there. Also at Vulcan Quarry {Parsons} there are fossils all over the site

just waiting to be picked up.

Well since the flood here in Nashville and the water plants had run over contaminating the streams, It has put a stop to my hunting. :( but I plan on checking out a road cut that is safe, and is in the shade. It's an off ramp with lots of parking space. it looks promising.
