    Lecture on “Bone Wars” the Feud of Edward Cope and Othniel Marsh in the History of Science

    As part of “European Geoparks Weeks,” a lecture will be held on June 10, 2026, on the “Bone Wars” between Edward Drinker Cope and Othniel Charles Marsh. A fascinating chapter in the history of science that unfolded in the second half of the 19th century. It led to the discovery of over 130 dinosaur genera and species, often through adventurous means. And it was not a peaceful affair: Cope and Mars

    Fossil fair at Sainte Marie Aux Mines, France

    In June the biggest european fossil fair takes place at Sainte Marie aux mines, Elsass, France. Around 40 km away from Strassbourg. Aound 1000 dealers of fossils and minerals (and some jewellry) are there.     Tate Museum Conference
