Calendar

The 31st Symposium on Palaeontological Preparation and Conservation (SPPC) will take place the day before the 53rd GCG Winter Seminar and AGM in the Manchester Museum, Oxford Road, Manchester, M13 9PL, UK. The GCG will be on two days, one is a field trip to peak district.

Please consider registering for both meetings.

It will be a great day to meet preparators, curators, enthusiast who love to find the right way to get a perfect result in preparation.

The SPPC is intended as a forum in which professionals, amateurs and researchers alike can participate and learn from one another on all aspects of working with geological material, including but not limited to collecting, excavation, preparation, conservation, model-making and related subjects. The annual meeting offers a unique opportunity to meet friends and colleagues in this field and to discuss recent developments, ongoing research and other, often museum related, projects.

Although the SPPC generally precedes the the Symposium on Vertebrate Palaeontology and Comparative Anatomy (SVPCA), contributions are not limited to the field of vertebrate palaeontology but can relate to invertebrate fossils, minerals, crystals, meteorites etc - anything about the physical work we undertake on any geological specimens to ready them for research or display is welcome.
