Snub-nose Scraper
This is called an oblong snub-nose scraper by at least one archaeologist (Purdy); it is called an "Aucilla adze" by collectors. It is recognized as part of the Paleo-Early Archaic tool-kit, though not common in Florida. It is characterized by the sharp angles of its edges and longer-than-wider shape. It is distinguished from a turtle-back scraper by the ratio of length x width + thickness. It is percussion-flaked. There is no indication that these tools were hafted, though logic dictates that they were hafted.
