Hey Bob,

that's a really nice specimen of Pseudogygites latimarginatus! Is this one of your recent acquisitions you were talking about? You don't see too many complete P. latimarginatus offered for sale anymore. I guess many of the collecting localities are now closed to the general public. At any rate a super addition to your collection.

Nice specimen! However the name is now Pseudogygites latimarginatus (Hall). It seems Hall described a pygidium from New York State that has priority over the name P. canadensis. Unfortunate, as 1) the species is much more common in Ontario than it is in New York, and 2) the holotype of P. canadensis is a perfect complete specimen, whereas Hall's specimen was a weathered pygidium. Nevertheless the rules of priority must be obeyed, as Hall's specimen is still available.
