The plate measures 12x11x2cm. Sponheimer-Schichten, upper "Rotliegendes", Guadalupian, Permian. From an old clay pit (Ziegelei Eimer) in Sobernheim, Rheinland-Pfalz. Dr. DiMichele from the Smithsonian Institute places it under "Lobatopteris", but since this genus is undergoing revision, it was not possible for him to name a species.
