Marine reptile bone in large rock
Scientific name: Indeterminate marine reptile, possibly a plesiosaur.
Geological formation: Conway Formation?
Age: 83 to 65 million years.
Location: Mikonui Stream mouth, Oaro, South Island, New Zealand.
Size: Actual bone piece measures 4-5 centimeters long, measures 3-4 centimeters wide.
This is a piece of marine reptile bone (possibly a fragment of plesiosaur jawbone) that me and Logan (Moahunt1) found at Mikonui Stream. The same rock has a couple of other pieces of bone and lots of shark teeth as well.
