Amauropsis islandica
A fantastic specimen of the icelandic moonsnail. Just like the Tridonta borealis, the exact age is unknown because this is a coldwater species (in fact it is still found in more northern seas, such as around Iceland), which doesn't make sense for warm Eemian sediments. This one likely comes from the same beds as the Tridonta borealis, which are speculated to be from the Weichselian, around 80'000 years old.
Status: locally extinct
Fossil occurence: uncommon
