OK, so here are my two vertebrae from the North Sulfur River.

The one on the right is from a Mossasaur, as far as I can tell from my online identification efforts...

...but does anyone have suggestions for the one on the left? My best guess is that it's a large shark vertebra, but I'm really not sure that's right.

I have found a lot of items just like that vertebra over the past few months here in Jacksonville, Fl. The ones I have been finding are black and range from one eighth to one inch wide. Some of the ones I found have a hole through them.

The right one is indeed a mosasaur vertebra, most-likely a post-pygal (caudal). The vertebra on the left is that of a bony fish, though I wouldn't hazard a guess which one. Nice specimens! :thumbsu:
