Jeff, I know you know your paleontology, but that tooth looks suspiciously like the internal part of a horn coral ?

It's not. It is a fish tooth. The Catskill Formation where we collected these is very well known for them.

Out of curiosity, what does the broken end of yours look like?

On these fish teeth, you can see the enamel sheath where they break.
