MarcoSr
My rarest partial fossil is a partial Omomyid left dentary, the first reported fossil primate from the Atlantic Coastal Plain of the United States, from the Eocene of Virginia which I donated to the Smithsonian. Meganeura
I’m gonna have to say either my partial Glyptodont tooth or my single cusp from a Mastodon molar would be some of my rarest finds. Mastodon obviously isn’t rare - but a complete tooth, especially one that would’ve been blue/white… oh boy. 3 Fossils? I dig it.
fossilhunter21
Cool post! My favorite, probably most rarest fossil I have is my Archaeotherium partial jaw. Although it is not super rare, I have heard that Archaeotherium specimens are not too common. Imagine finding a complete skull, or even jaw of one of these beasts! Genus: Archaeotherium Location: Our Heritage Guest Ranch, Crawford, NE DOD: 8/9/22 Length Of Specimen: About 3 Inches -Micah
Brandy Cole
The rarest in my collection is probably this pathological proboscidean vertebrae with vertebral fusion. Finding a mastodon or mammoth vertebra in relatively good condition would have been exciting enough for us, but one with a congenital deformity like this was truly one of a kind.
Brandy Cole
@MarcoSr. What an amazing find! And very good of you to donate it considering its importance.
