Praefectus
Yesterday, I got back from a family vacation to California. While there, I was able to spend two days digging at the Ernst Quarries. The weather was beautiful and the teeth were plentiful! Carcharodon planus hiding in the rock.

Praefectus
It was a great trip! Here are most of the finds. I spent most of today cleaning teeth and washing whale bone. There are still some more teeth I haven't cleaned yet.

caldigger
I would say you found a good spot with lots of not so usual items. Its not easy pulling that many teeth from there anymore. The black on that Tiger Shark tooth is Manganese. It actually cleans off with not too much difficulty if you so choose to do so.

Oh right, Manganese, not phosphate. Thanks. I think I'll leave it on the tooth. It makes the tooth unique.
