tracer
those teeth are abloslutely gorgeous! to my knowledge, i've only been to gainesville once in my life, for about an hour, to try to get tj in a creek there. i'd read that shark teeth could be found there, and we were passing by there anyway, so i just drove into the middle of gainesville and started driving around looking for a creek. found one, he got in it, found a few small shark teeth, and we hit the road again. it was a beautiful creek. we just didn't have the time to stay... Sundancer73
LOL edd.. lazy.. I'm missing creek digging (sorta). It's been my experience that fighting currents for 3 hrs. or so is much more demanding.. but then again, I am just an old coprolite.. LOL ~Mike All your fossils are belong to us
tracer
yep... but is that bone from a dugong skull? not sure, as it seems like all the dugong skull pictures i can find to look at show a frontal view, and i assume you're thinking maybe basicranium or something toward the back of the skull. but at any rate, a consolation tidbit of information - it kinda looks like the stuff you're finding is in an area where there may be a bunch of fossils with a lot of iron in them. that material can be hard to preserve. anyway, an article on dealing with iron-encrusted fossils and artifacts. link
edd
there is no iron deposits or stuff like that in this creek...just alot of colorful clay " We're all puppets, I'm just a puppet who can see the strings. "
