gigantoraptor
Hello all This summer I found this coprolite in the Odra quarry in Poland. I found around 6 of these but nothing else. The other members of the group found shark teeth and some other stuff. Mosasaur remains are also found there, but extremely rare. I know it's hard to assign coprolites to kind of animal, but is this what a shark coprolite would look like? Around 1 cm.
Darktooth
Hello Thijs! Is there anyway to get a clearer pic? Maybe a little closer to the object as well. I like Trilo-butts and I cannot lie.

Darktooth
I have collected a couple Cretaceous shark coprolites from Big Brook New Jersey. They have spiral lines from the intestinal tract. The object in your pic has a similar shape to ones I have found and saw pictures of but I can't say for 100% certainty that is what you have. I assume you are taking pics off a cell phone. If you are, I also assume this is the limit for quality of pics. Do you own a loupe? If so you can use it to get a close-up of your item. Simply hold it up to the camera lens on your phone on move phone towards specimen until you get proper focus. Actually any type of small magnifier will work. 1 I like Trilo-butts and I cannot lie. GeschWhat
I can't really tell from the picture posted if it is a spiral coprolite or not. It does look like a coprolite, but I would need a better photo to tell you more. 2 Lori www.areallycrappystory.com/fossils www.facebook.com/fossilpoo

I am sure it's a coprolite, but I really want to narrow it down.

GeschWhat
It is definitely a fish coprolite. It could be from a lungfish, shark, ray or a number of other fish with spiral valves. This looks like an amphipolar spiral coprolite. Amphipolar spiral coprolites have coils that are fairly evenly spaced along more than 75% of their length. It is a beauty! 2 Lori www.areallycrappystory.com/fossils www.facebook.com/fossilpoo
