abyssunder
#3- looks to be Stigmaria #4 - Calamites 1 " We are not separate and independent entities, but like links in a chain, and we could not by any means be what we are without those who went before us and showed us the way. Vin
So #3 is like a fern tree root, interesting! Thank you for the IDs.
paleoflor
#1 Difficult to ID from photo, longitudinal striations may indicate some calamite stem or cordaite leaf fragment, but there are more options possible here. #2 could these be coal cleats, i.e. represent a lithological rather than biological feature? #3 As Abyssunder said, Stigmaria, with were the "root-like" organs of lycophytes (Lepidodendron, Sigillaria, etc.), rather than of tree ferns #4 As Abyssunder said,Calamites #5 Could you annotate the photograph? What do you mean with segmented? Term suggests calamite, but I have difficulty seeing past the mineral staining on this photo. #6 Stems, possibly a calamite, need to look for nodes to confirm. Alternatively, possibly some type of pteridosperm stems? 2 Searching for green in the dark grey.
