Hello from Ontario!

Hello have been lurking the past couple days but I decided to make an account to view the good stuff! I have a small collection from online purchases/gifts but I have also been out hiking and found a couple orthocones. Looking forward to learning more about old dead animals transmuted into rocks and hopefully going out to find some more of my own!

Also you guys got some cute emoticons:horseshoecrab::trilo::ammonite01:

Welcome from Georgia USA.  I used to live in Ontario and it was a lot of fun to collect there.  Things have changed, unfortunately it is much harder to find good sites as all the quarries have been closed to collectors.  However with effort good finds can still be made.   We have several Ontario members you can talk to, and it is always a great idea to join a local rock/mineral/gem/fossil club for organized trips.

Welcome to TFF.  It is a fantastic resource for one who has you kind of interests. We have a  bunch of Canadian members, who will be especially helpful when you find something you wish identified.

I decided to try this hobby in 2009.  It has made a huge difference in my life. I wish the same for you.

Thank you all for the welcome  :brachiopod:

I noticed the good Ontario representation while browsing, definitely a big plus. Will certainly be checking out some of those mineral clubs and hope to tag along on a field trip

Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!

Transmuted... Now there is a word that doesn't get used enough! Hello and welcome to the forum! :)
