Spent a few hours preparing this Ice Aged Florida Fighting Conch (Strombus evergladensis) from Cape Coral Florida this afternoon 1/10/2021. The aperture is full of smaller shells like Pleurolucina amabilis. Before and after pics. The prehistoric staining looks like it was painted. Unique.

Happy Collecting

Strombus evergladensis (extinct Florida Fighting Conch) with Pleurolucina amabilis (extinct Dwarf Four Ribbed Lucine), Fasciolaria okeechobeensis (extinct juvenile Tulip Shell) Nucula crenulata ( small saltwater clam) Anadara lienosa (juvenile Ark) Argopecten gibbus (Calico scallop) Chione erosa (Cross Barred Venus) Eucrassatella gibbesii (Gibbs' clam).
