New Members Stoney Posted January 10, 2021 New Members Share Posted January 10, 2021 Hey there I’m totally new to this field. I was out Vintage bottle collecting yesterday and had been working around the base of this tree a couple of times like I kept getting drawn back to it after finding a couple of nice pieces. So as I’m walking away I turned and looked back, and I see this up in the stump of a dead tree that had been laid up in the crook of the tree I was searching, like, a little taller up then me. Can’t believe I hadn’t noticed it before. The closest thing I could match it up to was a opalized marine shell fossil. They look identical from the outside. However the one that it matched was not cut open, so I don’t know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Fossildude19
This actually looks like flowstone, to me. Stalagtite or stalagmite. 2 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks."
