New Members FossilFascination Posted April 3, 2021 New Members Share Posted April 3, 2021 Hello, first post here! I found this strange object at low tide on the shore of the Fraser River in British Columbia, Canada, just near the Agassiz bridge. I have no idea what it might be, but it appears to be at least partially composed of some sort of mineralized strands with what might have once been mud stuck into the crevices. It has been thoroughly cleaned, so everything you see here is rock, not dirt.
Myrmica
You appear to have some crystal prisms here: the whitish, rectangular ones. The Fraser River has tumbled all sorts of interesting minerals from upstream areas! It's hard to tell what you have found from the photos but it could be quartz or maybe feldspar, or maybe even something like tremolite. In any case, I don't think this will have anything fossiliferous.
GeschWhat
Hmm...I'm not so sure. I could be wrong, but this sure looks like something fossilized. I'd wait for others that know more than me, but I'm kind of getting a wood/plant vibe.
