Rockwood
I took advantage of a cold day to sneak into the quarry. It's mud season and this road is one that has the potential to be a walk back from. I think it is most likely in the Emsian, Tomhegan formation. There is actually a fairly good representation of typical finds in the shot taken for scale. There appears to be a crinoid stem, or feeding arm near by, but what is the other shape/object ?
Tidgy's Dad
Possibly just geological, but I thin there are some badly preserved brachiopods there myself, but that may well be my own pareidolia. Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
Rockwood
The shape is definitely in a layer of poorly preserved brachiopods. Large horn corals are common there. It seems likely that it is an odd sectioning of a poor preservation of one. Or possibly just a random blob of concretion. I was hoping someone might recognize something more interesting though.
