JamieLynn
I found this little critter in some Pennsylvanian micro matrix I brought home. I am guessing it's an odd crinoid but it is also not like any I've come across. Any info will be appreciated! Tidgy's Dad
Yes, it would appear to be a bit of crinoid stem. It's a pretty piece and interesting that it appears to be oval and synarthral (one line through the middle for articulation) at one end, like Platycrinites, but symplectical (lots of articulation lines) at the other. That plus the homeomorphic stem and spines should help with an id. 3 Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
JamieLynn
I found it odd that it is distinctly different in size from one end to the other. Usually the crinoids I find are fairly consistent in their size from one columnal ring to another. 1 www.fossil-quest.com
