LLyons
Hello from Louisiana! I am requesting help identifying a couple of fossils that were found in Montana. They were spotted while exploring the area with binoculars. The fossils were protruding out of the ground near an area with substantial erosion. Any ideas or suggestions as to what these two are? Fossildude19
Cropped and brightened: I am not seeing any fossils here. Maybe someone else will recognize something here, but I don't, unfortunately. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." tombk
Welcome to the forum. Those look like interesting rocks, but they don’t look like fossils to me. I, too, could be mistaken and might be missing something though.
jpc
I think these are internal molds of Baculites shells. Pretty common in much of eastern MT.
