Hello all... can you please help me to identify this... found on Climping beach, West Sussex.

Hello all. We found this today at Climping in West Sussex. 7cm long, 5cm wide and the break indicates that it may be 2cm deep.

Thank you to anyone who might be able to help identify it! Sarah.

Welcome to the forum!

 

It looks like a more or less vertical section through a sponge, showing the hollow in the centre - look at Siphonia for example.

 

This way up:
