Xiphactinus
I was prepping out a find from last spring (finally got around to it). Nothing special about the find. It was just the end of a fin from a Protosphyraena swordfish from the Niobrara Chalk of Kansas. We have several complete fins - each about 3 feet long. I collected it because it wasn't crushed like normal fossils from the area and it was a nice study specimen. It got kind of interesting while cleaning it up. In the fish's "shoulder", I found a gnarly growth. It must have been quite painful. The curved thing near the base of the fin is a clamshell that grew on the fin as it lay on the seafloor.
