Rockwood
It may have been on the way to being a fossil, but you will need a huge rock garden if you plan on collecting all of these that you see.

Since your camera is not great, try a few things to help with your photos. Take the pictures with the item laying on a flat surface, rather than in hand. Holding the item obscures details, and can cause the photos to blur. Take the photos outside, or near a window, with natural light. Take photos from directly above the item, not at an oblique angle. Have a ruler in the photos for scale. Please take pictures of all sides. Multiple shots of the same side aren't helpful. Please use different titles. Give as much information about where the item was found as possible. Be clear, and remember that this is an international Forum. I don't know where vic Aus is. If you mean Victoria, Australia, please type it out. Victoria is a large area. Please narrow it down to an area or county or place name. So far, you are posting a lot of rocks. I would suggest Joining a local rock, mineral. fossil club nearby, to get a handle on what can be found in your area, and what types of rocks you are actually finding. I think Tim is all wet with this advise. This type of thing is common at nearly every marine fossil site I've ever visited. You just need to keep looking and post the fossils you find when you get to them.

Mine is that it is always a good idea, if people are interested enough to pick up odd looking rocks, to join a local club and figure out what they are finding. Learning what to expect to find in a certain area is by far the easiest way to start separating fossils from non-fossils. Even for a lumper like you. Unless online research is your thing, then having someone show you what you have in hand is much better than posting on an international forum. Just makes a certain kind of sense to me. 2 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Let's try to keep it on topic here, Dale.
