New Members Chabba Posted December 5, 2021 New Members Share Posted December 5, 2021 Hi Folks, Been a reader of these boards for a long time and appreciate all of the great info shared here. I found this tooth at Topsail beach in NC this past summer and was hoping for some help with the ID. It not in great shape but leaning towards one of the extinct white sharks. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Fossildude19
May be too worn to tell for sure. Shape looks sort of like a mako, though. sixgill pete
It is to waterworn and beat up to ever accurately identify. However I am goingto hazard a guess from my experience here in NC, and knowing the area where you found the tooth. Because of the thickness of the enamel which is remaining and because they are such robust teeth, I think this is a reworked beat up meg tooth. New Members Chabba Posted December 5, 2021 Author New Members Share Posted December 5, 2021 Mako was my second guess as well. Was not thinking Meg but what you say makes sense. Thanks both for your input.
