Bringing Fossils to Life
I found this mysterious fossil in Richland, Michigan, and don't know what to make of it. It appears to have a fish scale and lots of bone fragments, as well as a piece of coral, in smoothed (Devonian?) sandstone. I don't know my fish very well; can anyone help? Fossildude19
The last two pictures are a bit poor in quality. The first image looks a bit like a possible coprolite. @Carl @GeschWhat 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." connorp
The rock is very worn, so there's a good chance it was transported so who knows what age. I don't think the pictures are clear or close enough to tell what this is.
BobWill
It's an interesting specimen but I'm not seeing the parts you refer to. Maybe if you could post an image with arrows pointing to the scale and the best of the bone fragments so we could have an easier time evaluating them.

But without much stronger evidence in that direction I'm going to go with rock.

Bringing Fossils to Life
Trust me, though; I'm not good with fish, so I'm only guessing.

GeschWhat
Hmm...I'm not really getting a coprolite vibe. I'm not seeing bone either. Shell fragments, maybe? 2 Lori www.areallycrappystory.com/fossils www.facebook.com/fossilpoo
