PSchleis
Another first for me. Whatever it is it seems to be complete. I thought maybe some kind of bone but there is a very enamel like sheen on both sides of it. Sort of an hourglass figure to it. About an inch and a half long. Myrtle Beach, 2022. ideas? thanks! digit
Definitely seems to be a toe bone. The "enamel" you are seeing seems to be the outer (cortical) surface of the bone that has been polished (possibly river or surf polish). The action of water and fine sand can buff up quite a shine on bone that is solid enough. Cheers. -Ken

digit
I'm still learning my toes--most babies get the hang of this before they start crawling. It's a bit worn but there may be enough distinctive features for those who have more than their share of toes to comment. @Al Dente @MarcoSr @Harry Pristis Cheers. -Ken
Rockwood
I'm not convinced this is complete enough to say anything more than bone.
Harry Pristis
I agree that it's a beach-polished phalanx. If pressed, I would guess it's a sea turtle toe bone. 2 http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
