Maci Is My Good Luck Charm!

Well last post someone wondered if Maci would become a meg finding dog. The answer is yes. we departed from the house around 9am and got to the beach around 10:30 with my eyes i could spot people in the distance so I began to paddle fairly hard to catch up wih them. I soon caugh up to a nice couple seeming to enjoy the grea day fossiling. Later I would come to find out that. It was one of our very own forum members, Diamonddust. I talked to him for a few minutes then proceeded down the beach. Shortly after I see a meg up on the beach which would later measure ou a just under 2.5" not even 10feet further down the beach was a beautiful 2 7/8" lower meg. I soon run into John Nance whose username im not sure of since he likes to change it so much  . On the way back to the kayak I came apon 2 sections of dugong rib, a sperm whale tooth and a nice hemi all in the same area. Dugong ribs are fairly hard to find up here, in all my years of looking I have only one before the addition of these two.

Very nice finds! Am I understanding correctly that you are paddling in a kayak to get to your hunting spots? Does this mean that any area that is accessible by water is ok to collect on? I've always worried about wandering too far along the beach and getting in trouble for trespassing.

It depends on where you are hunting and the low tide mark.

Looks like a nice haul :)
