What is this rock?

So found this today in our stream and never seen anything like it. Originally thought it was a plant or bit of wood however is definitely stone/mineral/bone after the teeth test. Our best guess is a stalactite however we have no clue. If anyone can give us a rock ID or a fossil ID would love to know more. It’s just over an inch in length no more then 35mm with a hole/tube going through it

We had a look at that possibility online and think the colours are right but haven’t found anything that looks remotely similar or that explains the hole that runs through from one end. However a point I should of raised is the ground that surrounds this stream is red mud.
I have cleaned it but may be stained ;)

Well, it could be a root cast, or a burrow, but sometimes ironstone concretions form weird shapes.

It's not bone, tooth or obvious plant remains.
Ironstone nodule/concretion fits best.

Red mud suggests a high iron content, making ironstone concretions of all shapes more likely.
