I know that dinosaurs can be very valuable, I wonder if the owner will benefit from this find or if the University of Lisbon will get it for free? :zzzzscratchchin:

One fossil a day will keep you happy all day:rolleyes:

Welcome to the FOSSIL ART

That´s a good one :heartylaugh:.

They have overturned his garden! Such a fossil is nothing I would like to have in my garden. Better to have it in someone else forest some km away ;).

That's how I started out; looking for dinosaurs in my garden.

Didn't find any fossils at all. :shakehead:

Still, I found a rich variety of invertebrates which I mostly ate.

Finding large sauropods in in the Late Jurassic of Portugal is nothing new, because Lusotitan and Lourinhasaurus were first described to science in 1957 as species of Brachiosaurus and  Apatosaurus respectively, and the large diplodocid Dinheirosaurus was named in 1999. The recent description of the titanosauriform Oceanotitan and the turiasaur Zby are reminders that knowledge of sauropod evolution in the Middle-Late Jurassic of the Lusitanian Basin is still a work in progress.
