New Members Stevedebbie1226 Posted January 12, 2023 New Members Share Posted January 12, 2023 Hello, 56 year old new member here. I enjoy looking for fossils as a child and I found this piece of petrified wood on our property yesterday. Anyone had any information about petrified wood in northeastern Ohio? Fossildude19
Welcome to the Forum. Sorry, can't help with the petrified wood, if that is what it is. Mother nature creates lots of lookalikes, and Ohio always has the possibility of glacial erratics. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 IPFOTM -- MAY - 2024 _________________________________________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." I have some petrified wood from Arizona that I gotten as a child, and this picture looks and feels like petrified wood, but a different type of tree. Seems like most petrified wood found in Ohio is south of us by a couple hours drive.
