Possible fossil/petrified wood

Found this in southwestern Kentucky. I'm unsure if it contains a partially exposed fossil or possibly petrified wood. Up close the folds seem to be created by a separate object contained within the rock.

Might contain trace fossils as it appears to be some sort of sedimentary ironstone but I don’t see anything from these photos

Looks more like an iron rich sandstone/clay/hardpan piece to me. The piece you outline may be a trace burrow fossil.

Last image is a bryozoan.

Yeah ironstone is frequently an indicator that fossils may be present and you ended up finding one! I’d go back to where you were and see what else you can find
