New Members Maxr355 Posted June 22, 2023 New Members Share Posted June 22, 2023 Hi I found this one a beach England, I know nothing around fossils but it stood out as looks really like a tooth, due to fuel colour, one for where the root may have been when in the gum and one for the actual tooth. It’s shaped very much like a teeth (on display) I have seen before so got me interested. mid I could have this identified that would be really cool. Fossildude19
It's a rock. No enamel present. No bone texture or root texture. No actual tooth morphology. Unfortunately, not a fossil of any kind. 3 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." FossilDAWG
The last photo shows a pattern the may be a weathered impression of a bivalve hinge. If so the rock may be a very worn internal mold of a bivalve. This would be consistent with the bits of shell that seem to be embedded in the rock. At any rate, it is certainly not a tooth of any kind. Don
