A Few Recent Finds at Penn Dixie, a shallow marine Devonian Site in upstate NY

Super folks and fossils! I had a decent trip to Penn Dixie with the experts recently and thought I would share a few finds. The first is the lower third of a crinoid calyx. I measures 4 cm and has an intact stem attachment segment. Aside from stems, its the first decent crinoid part I have found since 2015. I am fascinated by the geometry of the echinoderm organization- 6 around the stem, them 12 around the next whirl, makes we wish I had the entire calyx.

The next fossil is what appears to be some form of plant material. At 4 inches or 10 cm and perhaps 0.5mm thick, it has longitudinal striations and a tar like quality. In a few places a small bit has come off on the negative and the close-up pic show cracking of the plant fossil. Looks like a leaf but could be another part or perhaps seaweed?

and a few trilobites. A nice bent greenops and a couple of decent eldridgeops, the double are 2cm each (3/4 inch) and the single is 4.5cm (1 and 3/4 inches).

Nice multiplate of Eldredgeops, as well. That should prep out nicely!

That crinoid is a great find! Rare.

Thanks for the report, Michael. Glad you did so well there.

Cool fossils. I have not collected there in 20 odd years. The crinoid cup and trilobites are nice. The other bits are certainly head scratchers.

Update. Received these PE bugs back from Malcolm. Twins exposed (20mm) along with an unexpected enrolled Greenops.
