Anadara aequalitas has extra ridges on the outer lip. Is that common? Also looks like someone made a  permanent home inside. Barnacle I’m assuming.

I agree on Barnacle, the row of holes is a giveaway.

Peculiar how it grew into the shell.

That one is a double weirdo!

Neat find! I dont have many of these but I dont recall any like that. I like that example!

I wonder if that extra growth was simply a result of some injury that it was trying to repair/compensate for...

I think the barnacle attachment happened after death. Mike might know about the excess shell growth. @MikeR

Thanks Chris, I agree very possibly trying to regrow after injury. thank you for helping me understand this crazy hobby a little better. Barnacles seem to latch on to what ever they want to!

Yes, I think the mantle was damaged in life causing the deformity.  Also I think it is Anadara (Caloosarca) notoflorida H.E. Vokes, 1969.
