I found this (presumably fossilized bone) loose in southwest Missouri. Am I correct in my presumption.

This does not look like bone to me.  :unsure:
Looks more like a chert nodule with a weathered rind to it.

Wait for other opinions, however.

This does not have the porosity in broken sections that I'd associate with bone.  It appears to me to be a weathered sandstone or limestone with another type of mineral inclusion.
