Hi there I found this in a local disused coal tip/quarry in south wales. Pretty sure it’s a branch curious of species please if anyone could help thanks

Not sure there is enough detail there to say much more than it is a piece of plant branch.  

Still a neat find, however.

I'm not even seeing a branch...I would have just said rock.

There appear to be some repeated diagonal elements which would seem to indicate a lycopsid, but I don’t think it’s possible to say more than that (and it’s pretty rough, so even that is tenuous.)
