jpc
we are going to need more pictures. For example... the whole thing, end views and at least one with a scale bar so we know how big it is. This looks like a large baculite, though, not a dinosaur bone. hadrosauridae
The shape definitely says Baculites. Its a steinkern, which is an internal mold fossil. The original shell material is gone. I am highly intrigued by this, I haven't seen any with this size or ornamentation before (but I'm far from an expert). It looks like it comes from area around lake texoma based on composition and color and the fact its an ocean creature. 2 "There is no shortage of fossils. Tidgy's Dad
Really impressive specimen. Nice find! Looks more like a Palaeozoic nautiloid to me. Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
Fossildude19
I think I can see some suture patterns, which would bolster the Baculites ID. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks."
