My favorite things about fossil hunting: getting out of my own head, getting into nature and, if I’m lucky, finding some cool souvenirs.

Thanks, everyone! I feel honoured by all the compliments and having won this month's competition! :D

I never expected such a humble bivalve to win, and mainly entered it because I really liked it myself. At the same time, I guess it just goes to show that any fossil can be special, if only you put in the effort to share it with the world ;)

Thanks, Kevin! I wasn't aware these shells are this rare there (although I have come to understand it's rare to find them this well preserved) - which just makes this find all the more special to me! :D

Congratz, was a nice find indeed.

See you there indeed!

Tom always does a tour of the quarry with new folk and if you want I can show you some interesting places in the quarry as well.

That sounds great! I didn't get much further than the spoil heap last time - this time I intend to have a look at the actual quarry itself ;)

The newly dug place was very promising indeed, Multiple Hemipneustes, Neithea's and Temnocidaris were found there, so well worth to check out.
There is another classic spot (though I am not sure about it's current conditions) were in the past years a couple of turtles, multiple fish, a pair of heteromorphic ammonites, as well as a mystery find were made (the latter which is currently being examined by John Jagt), a corner of the quarry that is always worth to check out.
