Jesamine
Thanks to @Welsh Wizard for pointing me in the direction of these amazing caverns in the Peak District UK. On Saturday we took a trip up there. The Caverns are originally mines for Blue John which is a gorgeous Blue Purple and Yellow mineral. Back to the fossils... ...inside the cavern there is a chamber with layers of fossilised material in the ceiling. I will post some photos below. There was also a shop and museum with fossil examples from the cavern and elsewhere in the world. Sadly, I only got a few photos of those, as it was closing time. Strangely, we were the only visitors in the cavern (maybe late in the day) considering the amount of traffic all around. It costs £14.50 to visit the cavern. Recommended afternoon out. 7

Harry Pristis
Is this the fluorite called "blue John"? http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest

I'm not sure that it is found anywhere else except Derby UK, but I'm no expert. Hopefully someone with good knowledge of these minerals. @Welsh Wizard knows this stuff. Hopefully you'll get help. No it isn’t as it is quite specific to Castleton, here is Wikipedia link. There’s plenty of info on the internet about it. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_John_(mineral)
Harry Pristis
Thanks, WW . . . I have purple, and mixed purple and golden fluorite from SE Illinois, but I've never seen the banded form from a domestic (USA) source. 1 http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
