Does shale gas extraction have impact on potential future paleontological deposits,

This is a question that keeps coming to my mind, I know fracking is done underground, but are we destroying fossils by doing this? Fossils that could be discovered by future generations, that will be present when erosion uncovers this underground layer in perhaps a thousand years.

I would rather be counting in millions of years, depending on the geological circumstances, since most fracking operations go down over a thousand meters. The question for me would then be if there are any future human generations left on earth then at all :P
